Junior Ladies start campaign with thriller at Mobhi Rd

Our Junior Ladies team began the season with a thrilling encounter with Na Fianna in Mobhi Road last evening. In what was only the teams second game together the team performed exceptionally well. The girls started strongly and with some excellent team scores and an in form Kate Dwyer up front St Margaret’s forged ahead. However goals were to keep Na Fianna in the game.

The game flowed from end to end resulting in a 2-16 to 5-7 draw which was probably a fair result in the end. Best for St Margaret’s on the night were Tutsy Cogley in goal, Kirstin Doyle, Sophie McQuillan Clarke and Dervla Duffy in defence with Rebecca McGuinness, Caroline Lawlor and Kate Dwyer up front.

There is lots for the players and management to work on but this was an excellent display in only the teams second ever game together. There is a strong panel and the effort by each and every one has been superb. Unfortunately everyone could not get game time but they keep pushing each other in training and every member of the panel will contribute to the success of the team this year.

St Margaret’s: Tutsy Cogley, Rebecca Monks, Kirstin Doyle, Jen McGuinness, Sophie McQuillan Clarke, Dervla Duffy, Lauren McDonnell, Yvonne Dwyer, Charmaine Doyle, Rebecca McGuinness, Skye Healy, Rudy O’Shea, Kate Dwyer, Caroline Lawlor, Fiona Madigan.

Subs Used: Jodi Tynan, Leah Burke, Kaylah Clarke
