Inter Championship

The Inters travelled to Kilbarrack yesterday afternoon to take on the much fancied Naomh Barrog in the quarter final of the Intermediate Championship. After a good start against a stiff breeze the lads went in at half time with a score line of St Margarets 1-3 to Naomh Barrog 2-5. Another good start to the second half saw them scoring the first 4 pts to trail by a single point. Unfortunately we received a black card and in that period Barrog scored 1-1 to put them 5 pts up. The lads fought back bravely and the game was level on 29 mins but unfortunately a late Barrog goal sealed the win for them with a final score of 2-13 to 4-9. This young team will see this as a game that slipped through their fingers and will be bitterly disappointed but hopefully the lessons learned will stand to them in the games ahead and they will improve to claim honours in the near future.
