Building a Brighter Future: Exciting Developments at St. Margarets GAA Club

At St. Margarets GAA Club, we are always looking towards the future, especially for our thriving juvenile ranks.

We are excited to announce a significant new phase of development and improvement to our club facilities, designed to benefit all our members and secure a brighter future for our club.

Our club is embarking on an ambitious project to enhance our facilities, ensuring that our members have access to the best possible resources. Among the planned upgrades are a new all-weather pitch and an astro training area, which will provide our teams with top-tier surfaces to train and play on, regardless of the weather conditions. This will greatly enhance our training capabilities and match preparedness, fostering the growth and development of our players.

In addition to the new pitches, we are also focused on improving other essential aspects of our club’s infrastructure. Enhanced drainage systems will be installed to prevent waterlogging, ensuring that our pitches remain in excellent condition throughout the year. We are also expanding our car parking facilities to accommodate more vehicles, making it easier for members and visitors to access our grounds. Furthermore, other services and amenities around the club will be upgraded to improve the overall experience for everyone who visits.

To continue providing the necessary support for our juvenile teams and to build their future within St. Margarets GAA Club, we need your support. We are thrilled to introduce a new and limited availability opportunity for individuals to show their support through our Club Patrons Board.

The Club Patrons Board is a specially designed feature that will be erected in the entrance hallway of our clubhouse. This board will display the names of a limited number of Club Patrons who have shown their personal commitment to the success and growth of St. Margarets GAA Club. By becoming a Club Patron, you are making a tangible contribution to the future of our club and its young athletes.

Becoming a Club Patron is a straightforward way to show your support. Club Patronage costs €100 per person per annum, running from August to July each year. This contribution will go directly towards funding the ongoing development and improvement of our facilities, ensuring that we can continue to offer top-quality resources to our players.

We will be officially launching the Club Patrons Board during our upcoming Community Day on 24th August 2024 at the Complex. This event will be a celebration of our community and the exciting developments taking place at our Club. Spaces on the Club Patrons Board are strictly limited, so we encourage you to act quickly to secure your place.

To become a Club Patron, please use the form below before July 31st. By doing so, you will ensure your name is included on the Club Patrons Board, prominently displayed for all to see as a testament to your support for St. Margarets GAA Club.

In conclusion, we are excited about the future of St. Margarets GAA Club and the positive changes these new developments will bring. With your support, we can continue to grow and improve, providing the best possible environment for our members and securing the future success of our club. Thank you for your continued commitment to St. Margarets GAA Club – together, we can achieve great things.

RIP Christopher ('Big Chuck') Kennedy

St Margarets GAA would like to extend it's deepest sympathies to the Kennedy family who sadly lost Christopher Mon April 29th.

Chuck was a huge club man (Chuck talks about St Margarets GAA) - a former chairman of our club - a terrific footballer - playing most of his career at full back - he was a giant is so many different ways!

Chuck was a member of the 1962 Margarets team who won the Vincent de Paul Cup - a competition that contained some terrific teams at the time.

Chuck died peacefully surrounded by his family at Newpark Care Centre, The Ward.

Predeceased by his loving wife Angela. Dear father of Christine and Robert and adored grandfather of Daragh, Adam, Sean, Scott and Josh. Sadly missed by his family, son-in-law Damien, daughter-in-law Sharon, brothers (Richard, Sean, Jimmy, Raymond), sisters (Maura, Peggy, Noeleen, Francis), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and his many good neighbours and friends.

May Christopher Rest In Peace

Reposing at his son Robert's home (D11 Y165) from 4pm to 8pm this Thursday (May 2nd) evening. Removal on Friday (May 3rd) morning to St Margaret's Church, St Margaret's for funeral mass at 10am. Burial afterwards in The Ward Cemetery.

The family would like to say a special word of thanks to The Carers and Staff of Newpark Care Centre for the wonderful care that was given to Christopher.

Exciting News - St Margarets GAC announce New Lotto Platform!

St Margarets GAC woud like to announce that following the winning of our lotto (€16,650) Sunday 07/04/2024 - we have decided to re-jig our Lotto setup

We have now moved our lotto over to ClubZap!

From here on in - simple play on the ClubZap app (Clubhouse -> Lotto) OR optionally play at here.

We feel that our club is very familiar with ClubZap (chat groups, membership) and that having the lotto on this platform makes sense as users can purchase lotto tickets from the app. It's also a much simpler format - ie it doesn't require a user to register an account and log in - you simply add your email address to play.

All existing players (with remaining credit) have been moved across from the previous system with your numbers plus your remaining credits.

If you've any queries about the move or want to know your remaining credits - please email us at lotto@stmargaretsgaa.ie - and we'll get back to you with any queries within a working day.

The new lotto system mirrors the previous one in that we play with 28 balls (high odds of winning - only 20% of clubs in the country play with such high odds) & pot increases by €50 each week but we've changed a few things to make our lotto a little more exciting.

From now on - we will be giving out CASH PRIZES - no more lotto credits!

We'll start off this month by introducing 'Match 3s' (match 3 numbers) with a total fund of €100 to be shared - ie 1 match 3 takes €100, 2 match 3s split it etc.

We will not be doing 'Lucky Dips' (€20) for a few months - just to shake it up! I'm sure i'm not the only one who's tired of these prizes!

Our new pot following our lotto win is €2,500

Ok - that's it - good luck with the new system - and feel free to give us any feedback you want at lotto@stmargaretsgaa.ie

Ready? Our next draw - and 1st on ClubZap is now open! Draw will take place this coming Sunday evening - that's Sunday 21/04.

Play now (note existing players with credit are automatically entered into each draw until your credit runs out) on the ClubZap app (Clubhouse -> Lotto) OR optionally play at here.
