We had a brilliant day today on Day 3 of both camps - some photos below
See you all tomorrow!
Please note that with indoor restrictions - rain is not our friend this week - and we'll make a call on whether to abandon the day as early as possible - to give you plenty of time. Note if any of this weeks days are abandoned - we'll make it up to you during our Club Camp in August - but fingers crossed the rain will stay away!

U13s Thomas Ashe A Team v Clanna Gael Fontenoy 3:4 to 11:14
Great performance by all players, especially the last 15 minutes when we dominated but just a bit too late.

U13 Thomas Ashe kicked off the new 2020 season last Saturday
The U13 Thomas Ashe team kicked off the new 2020 season on Saturday with the 1st & 2nd teams playing in their qualifying divisions and the 3rd team playing a friendly against Lucan.
The lads kicked off with a 1st team win against Clanna Gael/Fontenoty in the Valley with a second hand performance that was similar to Storm Ciara in intensity. Lads ended the first half down by 4.3 to 3.2 having played directly into the wind. They restarted the second half kicking 3.3 in the first few minutes of the throw-in, to run out winners by 9.11 to 6.3.
The second team took to the field on a very windy howth head to take on Binn Eadair's only team at this age group. Great performances all over the field weren't fully reflected on the scoreboard as the strong cross-field gale made accurate shooting impossible. Lads fought hard and looked to have put themselves in a great position to force a win coming into the last couple of minutes when a free in was fisted into the net, but the referee called a hotly contested square ball, which led to Binn Eadair going straight down the field and scoring 1.1 in the last plays of the game. Binn Eadari finished with a 3.4 to 1.5 win.
Finally - the 3rd team who had a bye this week played a friedly against Lucan Sarsfields out in St Margaret's at 3pm. Lucan got off to a great start kicking a number of goals in the first half, with the Thomas Ashe lads just managing 1 point into a strong wind. Lads fought right back striking 3 quick goals in the first few minutes of the second half, but then missed a number of easy finishes that would have closed the gap. Game finished with a 7.3 to 3.3 win to Lucan.
It proved to be a good start overall to the football season, with some of the lads still getting used to playing together and understanding each other's strengths. We had 52 footballers across the three squads, with 8 players not available due to other commitments. It looks like it will be an interesting season ahead.

Thomas Ashe u13s had a good win today against Ballyboden C in the Division 5 league. It was a good team performance by the lads in horrible conditions. Thanks to all the supporters from St Finians and St Margaret's parishes who braved the weather to cheer on the team.
