Great outing last Friday at our Round 1 of the season!
Brilliant day & one we can remember as the beginning of the society
23 brave soldiers faced the wind and rain of the Corballis Links and donated 100+ golf balls to the local members!
Onlookers might have been forgiven thinking this was an audition for Gorillas in the Mist 2 the way at times one could see 10-15 lads hunting for their lost balls on the hills and mounds of Corballis Links!
Round 1 was won by the excellent Alan Cowley – despite his woes on the 1st – he settled into a rhythm and was mechanical in his consistency thereafter. He almost threw it away on the 18th (drive hit the 17th flag and pinged back almost to his standing foot) – but managed to avoid disaster!
